Quick Start

  • Equip Warbound upgrades and claim the four Renown Champion pieces.
  • Unlock the Omnium Folio and complete this week’s Seeking Knowledge quest.
  • Complete three Nightmare Prey targets and four T8 Bountiful Delves.
  • Secure the 4-set bonus, then craft a weapon or ring for the weakest slot.
  • Build rating in +6 to +8 keys before targeting Myth 1/6 rewards in +10s.

Prerequisites

  • You have a level 90 character.
  • Your Warband has obtained higher item levels in several slots to activate Warband upgrade discounts.
  • Your main has progressed the Delve journey and levelled Valeera for easier solo high-tier Delves.
  • Your Warband has unlocked the Voidforge and Ascendant Nilhammer, or this alt is ready to complete the unlock questline.
  • Your Warband has enough Faction Renown to claim the four Champion rewards.
Priority:

Solo Catchup (ilvl 250-255)

Use Warbound items, Renown rewards, Nightmare Prey, the Omnium Folio, and solo T8 Delves to establish a strong baseline.

1

Equip Warbound Catch-up Gear

High
Once you reach level 90, equip any Adventurer, Veteran, or Champion Warbound gear sent from your main character. Prioritize replacing your lowest item-level slots rather than equipping every piece blindly.
2

Claim 4 Renown Champion Pieces

High
If your Warband has the required faction Renown, claim the four Champion-track rewards from the faction vendors: Head, Neck, Waist, and Trinket. These are direct Renown rewards and do not require repeating the weekly events on the alt.
3

Unlock the Omnium Folio

High
Complete the Sunstrider Omnium introduction with Magister Umbric and Grand Magister Rommath, then open the Omnium Folio from its minimap icon. Complete Seeking Knowledge each week for a Mote of Omnial Inquiry and unlock the available rune rows. Week-two and later weekly prerequisites are Warband-wide, but every alt must still complete the Folio unlock questline.
4

Defeat 3 Nightmare Prey Targets

High
Complete the three-target Nightmare Prey weekly objective for catch-up gear, Dawncrests, and the Delve boss summon consumable. Pick up the hunt from Astalor Bloodsworn in Silvermoon.
/way 2393 55.0 63.4 Astalor Bloodsworn
5

Run 4 T8 Bountiful Delves

High
Complete four Tier 8 Bountiful Delves with your Warband-levelled Valeera. Use your Delve boss consumable to pursue a map and Trove reward, then choose Delves whose loot tables cover weak slots. Tier 11 is primarily relevant when you are ready for its one-time high-tier Dawncrest reward.
6

Catalyze Your Tier Slots

High
Catalyze suitable Champion or Hero pieces in class-set slots to reach your 4-set bonus early. Earning the four-piece achievement enables additional Catalyst charges to drop from raids, Mythic+, Bountiful Delves, and Rated PvP for that character.
7

Cap Delve Crystals & Target Weak Slots

Med
Continue T8 Delves until you cap the weekly Untainted-Mana Crystals, then buy a targeted Hero item from the vendor. Use this after your first drops so you do not spend the currency on a slot that is immediately replaced.
8

Fill Slots via the Marl Vendor

Med
Use Voidlight Marl on random Champion-track gear only when several possible results remain upgrades. Once only one or two slots are weak, save the currency for more deterministic rewards or Nebulous Voidcore exchanges.

Crafting, Raids & Crest Spending (ilvl 255-270)

Fill weak slots, unlock your class set, and sequence crafted gear and Dawncrest spending efficiently.

9

Craft a Hero Weapon or Ring

High
If you did not obtain a good weapon, craft a maximum-quality weapon with the appropriate Hero Dawncrest reagent. A ring is another efficient early craft because it is inexpensive and lets you choose secondary stats. Plan embellishments before committing expensive materials.
10

Reserve Ascendant Voidcores for Eligible Gear

Med
Ascendant Voidcores only empower fully upgraded Hero, Myth, or maximum-quality Radiance Crafted weapons and trinkets. Do not plan around using one on an unfinished or lower-track item; finish the eligible item first, then apply the Ascendant Nilhammer.
11

Spend Low-tier Dawncrests Aggressively

High
Spend Veteran and Champion Dawncrests to remove item-level bottlenecks. The Warband upgrade discount comes from having obtained a higher item level in that slot on any character; Hero of the Dawn separately unlocks trading Hero Dawncrests for Myth Dawncrests.
12

Target Class-set Sources in Season 1 Raids

High
Use Raid Finder, Normal, or higher difficulties to finish your set: four class-set slots come from The Voidspire, the chest comes from The Dreamrift, and L’ura in March on Quel’Danas can drop a Chiming Void Curio exchangeable for class-set armor. Choose difficulty based on the highest realistic upgrade, not only group availability.
13

Run Sporefall at the Best Accessible Difficulty

Med
Defeat Rotmire in the Patch 12.0.7 single-boss raid. Sporefused gear ranges from 259 in Raid Finder to 298 in Mythic, so LFR, Normal, and Heroic can all be meaningful catch-up steps; Mythic uses flexible groups of 15-25 players.
14

Sequence Dawncrest Upgrades by Slot

High
Before spending Hero or Myth Dawncrests, check whether the same slot can be cheaply raised on a lower track to establish the relevant discount. Prioritize weapons, trinkets, and large-stat armor slots, while keeping enough crests for a likely Great Vault or raid upgrade.

Endgame Optimization & Mythic Gearing (ilvl 270-280+)

Build Mythic+ rating, finish the Voidforge journey, and use Nebulous Voidcores to target the remaining upgrades.

15

Build Mythic+ Rating with +6 to +8 Keys

High
Use +6 to +8 dungeons to collect Hero-track gear, Hero Dawncrests, and rating without the pressure of +10. Complete different dungeons on both Fortified and Tyrannical weeks before repeatedly farming a single key.
16

Build the Voidforge and Ascendant Nilhammer

High
Meet domanaar Decimus at Howling Ridge in Voidstorm and complete Building the Voidforge. Six Elemental Voidcores are required. Continue the Warband-wide journey to build the Ascendant Nilhammer and unlock Ascendant Voidcore drops.
17

Complete Tournament Rise Once

High
Complete the unique Tournament Rise Delve difficulties in Voidstorm for their one-time, per-character Hero and Myth Dawncrest rewards beyond the normal weekly cap.
18

Target Farm +10s with Nebulous Voidcores

High
At +10 and above, spending a Nebulous Voidcore after the dungeon grants a random eligible item at the equivalent of a Myth 1/6 Great Vault reward. Each awarded item is removed from that activity’s pool for that difficulty until the pool resets after being exhausted. Dungeon rewards cost one core; raid boss rewards cost two. Choose your loot specialization before spending.
19

Avoid Low-value Gearing Loops

MedOptional
Do not repeatedly farm Void Strikes, Void Incursions, or Ritual Sites solely for a random gear reward when Delves, raids, Mythic+, or a targeted currency purchase can fill the slot more efficiently. These activities remain worthwhile for campaign, reputation, Folio, or collection objectives.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the core loop take?

The core weekly tasks (Seeking Knowledge, Delves, Nightmare Prey, and a targeted raid clear) can be done in a few focused sessions. Mythic+ farming takes additional time depending on your group and key levels.

Why should I save my Hero Crests?

Saving Hero Crests for specific slots (Chest, Pants, Helm, etc.) maximizes your power spike going into Mythic raid progression. It also gives you buffer room for unexpected drops.

What about my lower-tier crests?

Spend your Adventurer, Veteran, and Champion crests aggressively to raise your overall item level. This will make your M+ runs significantly easier and smoother.

What if I can't do +10s?

If +10 keys are too challenging, step down to +8s. You will still receive 2/6 Hero track gear (which you shouldn't upgrade until strictly necessary), but you'll avoid the headache of a bricked key.

Pro Tips

  • Run LFR early if you don't have your 4-set bonus to enable your class’s true potential.
  • Spend your low-tier crests as fast as possible to make jumping into high keys smoother.
  • Use the Heroic-to-Mythic discount trick when getting new Vault or Raid loot to save valuable Mythic crests.
  • Align your crafted item choices before heavily committing Hero crests to ensure you don't waste resources.
  • Wait to upgrade your alt's gear until your main finishes with crests for that tier to get a massive 50% account-wide discount!
