Level 10-90: Follow the checklist

Start at your current level. Skip preparation or shortcuts that are unavailable.

  1. Next step

    Check Available XP Buffs

    Take an active XP buff if it is easy to reach; otherwise start questing.

    • Movement consumables such as Goblin Gliders and Gunshoes are optional purchases, not a prerequisite.
    • Use War Mode only while its XP bonus outweighs time lost to PvP.

  2. Choose the Permanent or Event Route

    Choose the quest route available to your character and stay with it between dungeon queues.

    • Use Chromie Time when the game offers it; otherwise follow your available expansion quests.
    • An active XP event speeds up the same route. No event or prepared main is required.

  3. Levels 10-79: Dungeons, Chromie Time, and Timewalking Weeks

    Quest while queued for dungeons; use Timewalking when it is available to this character.

    • If dungeon queues are short, keep running them; otherwise keep questing between queues.
    • Event buffs can be character-specific: build any required buff on the alt you are leveling.

  4. Levels 80-90: Follow Midnight Quests

    At level 80, follow the available Midnight campaign and nearby quest hubs until level 90.

    • Pick up dungeon and first-time Delve quests when they fit your route.
    • Use Prey only if it is unlocked and fits the route; keep questing between queues.

  5. Use the Correct First-character or Alt Route

    Complete required campaign unlocks; use a Warband skip only when the game offers it.

    • Your first character must complete the required campaign and unlock quests.
    • An alt can use already-unlocked account shortcuts. Without them, follow the normal campaign route.

  6. Use Route Directions If Helpful

    Use FollowTheArrow for level 80-90 directions, or keep following your quest route.

    • The addon is optional. Queue times, competition and class mobility still affect leveling speed.

  7. At Level 90: Start Gearing

    At level 90, open the PvE gearing checklist and follow its next unchecked action.

    • Claim Renown catch-up gear only if the required Renown ranks and reward quests are unlocked on your Warband.
    • If those rewards are unavailable, continue with the regular gearing route; a prepared main is optional.
XP events, shortcuts and tips

Winds of Mysterious Fortune Ended September 22

The September XP event (+20% XP for levels 10–89) ended September 22 in NA and September 23 in EU. Use the permanent quest-and-dungeon route, with Chromie Time only when it is available to that character, and check the in-game calendar for the next Timewalking week.

  • A level 10+ character. Movement consumables and their gold cost are optional.
  • Optional shortcut only: a main with the Midnight campaign and relevant Warband unlocks can make the fastest alt route shorter, but neither is required to begin leveling.
  • XP events are temporary; this route works without them and uses Chromie Time only when it is available to that character.
  • Keep Goblin Gliders and Gunshoes available for indoor or no-mount segments, but compare their cost with the time they actually save.
  • Use FollowTheArrow as a route baseline, then adapt when queue times, class mobility, competition, or War Mode make another activity faster.
  • Enable War Mode only while its XP bonus outweighs time lost to PvP; turn it off if repeated fights slow the route.

Common questions

Does this work without a prepared main?

Yes. Complete the normal campaign and required unlocks. Use Warband skips only if they are available to this character.

What should I do during dungeon queues?

Keep questing. Run more dungeons when queues are short, and use Timewalking only when the calendar and your character allow it.

Do I need an addon or an XP event?

No. Both are optional. FollowTheArrow can guide your level 80-90 route; an active XP event simply speeds up the usual quests and dungeons.
