  4. Add Crests Only When They Help

    If crests finish a useful upgrade now, farm your preferred activity. Add Azta’rec’s one-time rewards only if your alt can defeat it efficiently.

    After the crest cap lifts the week of October 20, farm only the crests needed for your next lasting upgrade. Use the activity you clear most efficiently.

    • Mythic+ sources: Hero crests at +4–8; Myth crests at +9 and above. Raid provides another option.
    • A 1/6 → 6/6 upgrade costs 100 crests, or 50 if the matching Warband discount is unlocked.

How do I unlock Ascendant Venomstones on an alt?

Check quest progress on the alt you plan to gear. Finish any missing earlier setup in order: In the Catalyst’s Shadow with Decimus in Voidstorm, Prismatic Potential with Orin in Silvermoon, then Umbral Blessings of the Catalyst after research. Complete Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom the week of October 13 to start the next research. After it ends the week of October 20, complete Ascending with Venomstones before farming drops.
